Calligraphy
Calligraphy, which uses brush and ink to beautifully express characters such as kanji, is also part of Japan's traditional culture. Calligraphy requires not only neatness but also balance, elegant placement, precise brushstrokes, and a calm mind.
In Japan, all elementary school students learn calligraphy at school. This is because writing beautifully through calligraphy also cultivates the beauty of the heart and the balance of the spirit.
In this program, we will prepare several words. Guests will listen to the meaning of each word, choose their favorite, and try their hand at calligraphy. The instructor will then guide you through the art of brushstroke, a crucial aspect of calligraphy. Pay close attention as you create your beautiful piece.
Please take home your completed colored paper as a souvenir.
